What if disabled people were in charge?

We would not have a gentler world.
We would have a truer one.
A world where survival is never conditional.
Where access is not requested, negotiated, or delayed,
but built in from the start.
Where the measure of a system is simple:
Does it keep people alive?
Does it let them participate?
If not, it doesn’t stand.
We would not call it “accommodation.”
We would call it baseline reality.
We would not wait for proof, paperwork, or permission
while bodies break down in real time.
Biological continuity comes first.
We would redesign systems that ration dignity
and call them what they are: failures.
Reparations would not be symbolic.
They would be structural.
Time returned.
Money reimbursed.
Access restored.
Barriers removed.
Not as charity.
As correction.
Because the harm was not accidental.
It was engineered, ignored, and prolonged.
And so the response must be deliberate.
Relentless.
Structural.
This is not about flipping the hierarchy.
It is about ending the need for one.
No gatekeepers.
No systems that require suffering to prove worth.
Just a world where participation is guaranteed,
safety is assumed,
and no one is left negotiating for their own survival.
